Bubble wrap printing #ToddlerApprovedTuesday

After a very busy six weeks off for the summer Bodhi is now back at school ( hooray ) Don't get me wrong it has been lovely having time together but we have both missed our routine to our week days! With this in mind i wanted to start taking part in #ToddlerApprovedTuesday once again, Its a wonderful weekly link up with some great crafty ideas that are perfect for Bodhi's age ( 4 1/2 )

Today i wanted to share a really simple painting idea that we did over the summer when we had a package arrive with lots of bubble wrap !

1) lay your bubble wrap out onto a flat surface this could be a table/floor/patio , just keep in mind this is a messy paint activity
2 ) make sure you have everything you'll need to hand we used
* paints & brushes
* paper
* bubble wrap
* wet wipes for clearing up
3) Paint onto the bubble wrap ( use more paint then if you was painting on paper )

4) once happy with image , lay paper over the bubble wrap and smooth the paper over the paint this will create a print.

5) peel off the paper slowly and you will have a lovely Bubble wrap print ( you can get 2/3 prints from one painting if you press harder each time )

We really enjoyed this activity, Its a great way to re-use bubble wrap ( rather then just popping it )

See you next week for another #ToddlerApprovedTuesday

#ToddlerApprovedTuesday painting with toys

sometimes its the most simple things that your child will enjoy the most, like playing in a cardboard box or playing in the dirt! Body loves to paint and get messy while doing it he is now 4 1/2 and as much as he loves painting with his hands i often get fed up of the clear up afterwards!

so we picked out some toys that would be great for mark making, Trucks with big wheels animals with different types of feet and dinosaurs! just place some paint onto a plate and let your child do what they like!

Bodhi really enjoyed the freedom of this craft and spend over an hour mark making with this different toys.

i am linking up with  #ToddlerApprovedTuesday this would also work well out in the garden now we are finally getting some better weather!

Paint by numbers

Who would have thought that something as simple as a paint by number kit from good old pound land would give me a chilled out afternoon during the easter holidays , I picked it up on a whim purely down it to being farm related as this is the theme Bodhi is covering this term at nursery school. Body has never done a paint by numbers before but i thought now that he is four and can recognise numbers i thought it would be a nice crafty project.

Bodhi was very keen to get started , He didn't fully understand the idea of only painting the parts with the same number all at the same time ( he is really into making the big old painty mess that then finishes with the black paint covering the LOT )

He soon got the hang of it and really enjoyed making his painting match the one on the packaging, the kit came with everything we needed. Paints / brush the paint by number ( on a canvas board ) and even a test sheet printed on paper ( we used this with felt tips after and it went in Bodhi's Easter scrapbook )

I only helped with the sheep feet the rest was all him, I am so proud that he worked all of the numbers and colour matching. I will defiantly be picking up more of these if i can find other designs , Two big thumbs up from us for this Paint by number kit from pound land, It has pride of place hanging in Bodhi's bedroom. Don't be scared to try out new things with your child even if Bodhi had painted the whole thing in green, Who cares?? it was a £1 and i got to drink a cup of tea while it was still hot and reply to some emails without mum guilt.
