Gross science - Zombie hand kit by John Adams * test & Review *

My son Bodhi LOVES anything a little gross and grim, He also loves science at very nearly 7 years old this is a passion i really want to encourage, When given the chance to test out a kit from John Adam's gross science range i knew that i had to pick the zombie hand kit, i kept it for doing over the October half term and the whole family got involved with the project.

The only down side of the kit is i didn't know until Bodhi was reading the instructions that one we needed lip balm ( most home would have this tho ) and also the hand needs to be placed in the freezer over night ! I did have to do a super quick freezer rearrange so we could fit it in. This really wasn't an issue tho and it made the project last longer and Bodhi really looked forward to carrying on with the kit the next day.

All of the items are clearly labelled and the instructions are clears and simple to follow , the kit is aimed at ages 7 plus i definitely think this is the right age range group for these kits, Bodhi clipped all of the hand bones together and we added the gel to the hand mould and into the freezer for its over night stay!

Fast forward to the next evening and this was the part Bodhi had been looking forward too the most, Making the green zombie skin! Again he could read the step by step instructions and told me and dad what we needed to do next to help him out.

The template within the instructions was really handy ( get it handy! ) and let Bodhi do the part he really wanted to do without any grown up help, He did need some help in placing the green zombie skin onto the zombie hand! He zombie hand once out of the freezer starts to defrost pretty fast so you can't hang around with it !

John Adams is a house hold known brand and one i would would by again and again ! these would make perfect gifts ideas for harder to by for children and i know that Bodhi will be adding a few more Gross Science kits onto his Christmas list. you can check out the rest of the range on the John Adams website

This blog post was written in exchange for the product all photos & views are real and honest.

MOKURU ( the Amazing desk toy ) * REVIEW & GIVEAWAY *

In Japan, “wood” translates to “moku”, and “flipping” translates to “kuru”. That’s how the the name, “MOKURU” came to life, and this " fidget stick' ( As Bodhi calls it ) really does come to life when used.

Now unless you have been living in a cave for the last six months you will have no doubt seen a fidget spinner, I personally dislike the spinners but when our MOKURU arrived i was very pleased at just how different it was to a spinner. Bodhi and his dad have spent hours trying out new trips & flips its pretty amazing what you can do with this little green stick! My dad even asked if it had batteries or magnets, he was also very impressed

MOKURU is suitable for everyone old and young alike, Just playing with MOKURU for a few minutes a day can help you sharpen your focus and hand-eye coordination. No matter what tricks you decide to practise, playing with MOKURU can give you endless hours of fun. Bodhi has gotten so good at flipping this MOKURU over just the last few day and will sit at the kitchen table playing with it giving me peace to crack on with the dinner!

MOKURU is an amazing desk toy crafted with quality beech wood. It has a simple design with endless possibilities that will test your creativity and dexterity. Play with MOKURU for fun or sharpen your skills and style to become a master. You can even play MOKURU with friends. It’s totally up to you, You can buy MOKURU from amazon I would advice against buying a cheaper own brand version Bodhi's cousin brought these after seeing Bodhis ( He took it to afternoon tea with us ) And the cheaper versions are harder to use and i found less enjoyable to use.

I have a giveaway for two lucky reader to win a MOKURU ( I have no control over the colour the winners will be sent ) please enter the rafflecopter below

Shaving is a daily chore for most of do , but it doesn't have to be one we put off! My husband Chris likes to think he can pull off a beard but to be very honest he really can't ! So when EvoShave got in touch asking if we wanted to review a fathers day designed razor i jumped at the chance. so if  your struggling for a last minute fathers day idea for him or looking for the perfect gift ides for the future. Evo Shave is a new concept razor that has a unique design, created to achieve a close shave with it’s smart designed Evogrip and dual edge cartridge, you can pick from a range of colours and even add images and text. The idea is so simple behind the razor, The finger grip handle gives your more control and feel while shaving. Chris was very pleased with his overall shave using for the 1st time He did say that it felt strange on the 1st day as its a whole new way of holding the razor but as the days passed its become more and more natural and has reduced his overall shaving time. The bright colours and smart packaging make this an eye catching an fun product perfect for any man in your life.

my fairy garden - new website & product review

When i was a little girl i spent all of my summer holidays out playing in my garden or down the park with my older sister and friends, When i first saw products from my fairy garden ( made by interplay )  i wished they had something like this when i was the right age, so when given the opportunity to review a my fairy garden i jumped at the chance.

The website is amazing in its own right, with games, meet the fairies , a garden diary and then a page full of the items you can buy. Bodhi and i both took the which fairy are you quiz ( link to the fairy quiz ) Turns out I'm Heather and Bodhi is Blossom the site is full of fun games and make and do ideas.

                                                                         I‘m Heather

‘Hi, Heather here… My home is really important to me as it is also home to wildlife. There is nothing I like better than going for walks in nature which usually ends up being great fun. My friends and I pick up litter which we wash and turn into treasure for our garden. I also love baking cakes for my friends on their birthdays. Autumn is a busy time of year for my family as we have lots to do to get ready for winter.’
I‘m Blossom
‘Hello, my name is Blossom. I have a spring birthday so this is my
favourite time of year. I love to sing and dance amongst the flowers.
I’m good at painting and making things for my garden. I like spring
because flowers start to grow and birds sing and lay eggs.’
We was kindly sent the grow & play fairy garden. You get a whole range of items to make your own garden perfect for indoors or outside play. The pack of grass seed is a lovely touch. We have gifted our garden to Bodhi's cousin who has just turned 8 and loves all things pink/fairies and anything girly.

you can buy online for £14.99 this kit is the best seller, They also have many add on items such as packs of more fairies ( this one comes with Belle ) I am very much looking forward to helping out with the making of this set with Bodhi's cousin, Last summer Bodhi and i did a DIY Dinosaur garden i did hope he would want to play with this set himself but I'm sad to say my little boy is turned off by the "girly-ness" ( his words ) maybe a little boy elf is needed to join the group?

BabyZoo Momo Sleeptrainer clock *REVIEW*

Bodhi has ( touch wood ) always been a fairly good sleeper but once his eyes pop open that is it its morning he is awake its time to get up ( little bit like Anna from Disney's Frozen " the sky's awake, so I'm awake ) ME on the other hand I'm more like a sloth ! I love my sleep and i can't cope with with the 5:30 am wake up calls of " mummy can we get the playDoh out " *shudder*

So When i was given the chance to review the BabtZoo Momo sleep trainer clock i thought it was worth a try! The clock comes in either pink or green with the cute monkey on top The basic idea of the clock is that if the monkeys eyes are opened then this means its okay to be awake BUT if monkeys eyes are still closed this means it isn't time to get up back to sleep.  The analogue and digital displays help children to learn to tell the time. The alarm function also allows it be used as a conventional alarm clock for older children if needed. you will also need x3 AAA batteries required.

On our 1st night with the clock we set the alarm for 7:30 am and wouldn't you know it ! the next morning at 7:30 am i was awoken not by Bodhi but by the sounds of jungle noises and then Bodhi telling me that the monkey was awake so he can now get up. Straight off the bat i was over the moon that it seemed to have worked and for the rest of the school week it did the job of keeping Bodhi in his bed until 7:30 am a few mornings i did hear him awake but he stayed put in his room and that's A-OKAY with me !

At the weekends we unset the alarm function and put the clock away to see what would happen, Whoops big mistake !! 6:15 am Saturday i was woken up by Bodhi by my side asking where his monkey was!!! So safe to say It is working for us for our needs.

We have placed the clock on his bedroom storage unit so i have to get out of bed to turn off the alarm function at 7:30 am so it is also helping me to get up in the mornings and our mornings have become a lot less stressful now thanks to the sleep trainer BabyZoo Momo clock !

You can buy the clocks online via amazon The price if you just wanted a clock is a little high but for me and getting more hours sleep in the morning i would be happy to pay double this for the clock. This clock has fitted in perfectly into our household and we wouldn't be without it now.

Thank you BabyZoo for giving us the chance to try out your product in exchange for our review.

build a bear workshop Stuffing Station * REVIEW * Spinmaster

Build a Bear opened its 1st store back in 1997 ! Now over 400 stores worldwide , I remember my 1st trip into a build a bear store was with husband when we was pregnant back in 2011 and we had a classic bear made for baby bump and now Bodhi sleeps with his Ted every night,

The idea behind the build a bear work shop is that you can make you own smaller scale soft toys are home! the stuffing station is based on the huge stations they have within the stores, With in the stuffing station you get all you need for making x2 soft toy friends.

The bears also come with clothes , love hears and bags of stuffing. it is a very simple project to make , simply place the bear skin over the nozzle ( the skins comes with zips so no sewing or needles are needed ) once the bears are in place you add your stuffing and turn the handle.

We did have a slight problem when Bodhi got a little bit over keen on turning the handle and his bear popped off from the station , stuffing overload!! He found this funny tho and we just started again.

The bears also come with the plastic hearts that you can add a little note to place inside of your toy ( just like in the real stores) I feel that this kit would be perfect for a child who loves the build a bear store to bring the magic home.

As you can see Bodhi loved his finished build a bear and he gifted it to one of his friends at school, We then made the 2nd bear and this one he kept for himself. Would also be a great craft for your child to do with a friend over for a play date, The station is for 4+ and this is the right age mark for the kit. You can also buy add on kits that come with all you need to make more soft friends. These start at around the £7 mark the station itself can be brought from all good toy shops or from build a bear direct for £29.99

You also fill out your build a bear birth info sheet , Its these little touches that make this an amazing toy item and I'm sure the build a bear workshop stuffing station will be on lots of children's Christmas list this year.

Thank you spin master for sending us this for in return for our review both myself and Bodhi had a great time making the bears,

DeeDee & Boo : Home print review :

Mile stone moments in life such as moving out, Marriage , Babies , Buying family home. What better thing to remember these moments then with a personalised Print by Dee Dee & Boo. I came across Helen via chance blogger out reach. She was very friendly and helpful with ideas of what i could have made.

In the end i chose to have a home print with our family name and myself , Chris Bodhi and also our family pets ( well they are part of our family arnt they ?! ) Helen is very processional and friendly and kept me up to date with my print, She even added " once a house now a home " onto the print, As i really do feel our little house is becoming our family home.

When my A4 print arrived i couldn't stop looking at it , It really is a work of art and i LOVE it ! its so cleaver how it all fits within the heart shape, Each time i look at it i see more and more details. The colours make it feel warm and inviting ( just how a home should feel right? )

The details of our names is also a lovely touch and you can have more or less boxes added as needed to suit your family. The Home prints are just part of the wonderful range that Helen makes over at her website You can pick from births/wedding/family/love and much more my print is priced at £20 for the A4 side ( £30 for A3 ) i think this is a really fair print for a custom print. You can also commission Helen so a one of a kind image these are from £120 again a really fair price for what it is you are getting.

I love the fact it has a little names in the boxes, no more babies means i have
no worries of having to add another name at a later date!

I have asked Father Christmas ( hubby ) for a frame for my lovely print so it can go up in our hallway and i can see it every day and smile. Thank you Helen at Dee Dee & Boo for my lovely lovely home print as you can tell i really do love it.

: Print was gifted to me in return for my feedback & review :

The very lovely brains and talent behind Dee Dee & Boo let me do a little Q&A with her

1) who is Dee Dee Boo ?

Dee Dee & Boo is the home of heartfelt personalised prints and custom illustrations created by myself.
Dee Dee & Boo is all about celebrating the important things in life: family, births & birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, marriages and Christmas.

2 ) what inspires you ?

I live in a very beautiful part of England where I am always inspired by my environment, beautiful skies, flowers and nature. I'm lucky enough to have the countryside and seaside on my doorstep, both such amazing places to get inspired and clear my mind. I also love quirky packaging, retro fabric and bright colours.

3 ) where do you create your artwork ?

I am based from home and have my own creative space, it's calm, quiet and light. I have a tendency to claim more sections of the house when I get really busy...good thing its all pretty

4 ) where do you see yourself in five years time ?

Exciting times are already ahead for Dee Dee & Boo. It's what I love to do, its my passion and I hope people see that through the work I produce.
My daughter bought me a beautiful pebble with 'Do what you love' painted on it and I have that displayed on my desk. I truly believe that if you do what you love, there really are no limits to what you can achieve.

5 ) what is your favourite thing to draw ?

My all time favourite is drawing and paint is flowers, I find it really therapeutic.

6 ) Who is your favourite artist ?
Georgia O'Keeffe, I discovered her while I was still at school and then again whilst studying for my Ba(hons) in Fashion textiles, I fell in love with her work.
7 ) reason behind the brand name ?
Well, my two beautiful children. When my son Beau was very tiny he used to struggle a little with saying his big sister's name 'Evie' so he decided on the name 'Dee Dee' and we have always nicknamed Beau...Boo. So... Dee Dee & Boo was born

kao kao club petz Review

We love all things cute, cuddly and animals so when we had the chance to review another animal from the club petz range how could i say no? This time we was sent out our very own baby koala bear named Kao-Kao. As you can see from my youtube Bodhi was over the moon with his new 'pet' and couldn't wait to look after her and to take care of her.

She is a interactive bear has a built-in sensor and makes a noise when you enter the room. You can feed her  a eucalyptus branch and she’ll smell them and then and them have a nibble.  She loves her bottle, she can get the hiccups A few pats on the back will make her burp! Bodhi loves this Give her a cuddle and stroke her head or back this  will make her fall asleep.
• Sensor technology so he makes a noise when you enter the room
• Interacts and makes noises with food and bottle
• Able to get hiccups and burp
• Falls asleep from stroking head/Back

You can buy Kao-Kao from most online toy stores or amazon and the RRP is £49.99 this may seem like a high price, But the toy its self is huge ( as you can see in the photos ) and will give your child hours of play and fun. If Bodhi had asked for this toy it would have been saved for a main Christmas gift or birthday. You will need x4 AA batteries for play and you can turn Kao-Kao off when not being used. Bodhi loves her as i knew he would and she is very well looked after. This is a great toy for families that can't keep pets due to what ever reasons and it also really promotes image/ Role play ideas. Bodhi loves to play koala family and uses Kao-Kao as is baby sister ( Yes i am mummy koala )

Thank you once again to IMC toys for sending us this product to review and keep.
